MEMBER BENEFITS Two representatives from NYSUT attended our Union meeting on November 5 to explain many of the benefits of Union membership. These include discounts (computers, books, office supplies, music and video equipment, car rentals, movie and theater tickets), additional insurance plans (disability, catastrophic coverage, rental, long-term care), and banking (savings and CD's) at favorable rates. Yellow Form=Mandatory Condition of Employment
As of the October 15th deadline, only 20% of faculty have returned the yellow forms that were distributed in all Brooklyn campus mailboxes in September. Of some 700+ contacts made, meaning, the stuffing of — at a minimum — 700 plus Pratt Brooklyn mailboxes w/an information packet including the 2007-2011 CBA, there have been just 152 responses (107 UFCT bargaining unit members wishing to remain union members, 40 newly enrolled union members and just 5 opting for being age

ALL PRATT FACULTY: YELLOW FORMS DUE BY OCTOBER 15
By this time, all Pratt faculty should have received a new Collective Bargaining Agreement and membership materials in their faculty mailboxes. Whether or not you are currently a union member, you must fill out the yellow membership form and return it to the union office (125 North Hall) by October 15. UNION MEETING OCTOBER 1
The first general membership meeting has been called for Wednesday, October 1, from 12:30-2 in Engineering 110. The topic will be "the state of OUR Union." September 2008 Update

Our colleague Jim Costanzo has asked me to circulate his comments… ______ Kye, I appreciate all that you, the negotiating team and other officers have done to negotiate and ratify the contract.
